I have been having problems with my ADSL connection.Once connected to the internet,the web pages open for a couple of seconds and then none of the pages open after that.It shows unable to open the page.I installed norton antivirus and updated the virus definitions and ran a scan and it showed that netconf32.exe file is infected with W32.HLL.GAOBOT virus.I have downloaded the fix from norton and i still have to try it once i get home.But i just wanted to know if the problem was because of this virus or is there any other problem as well.My I have a 512kbps Etisalat ADSL connection and my modem is Lucent Cellpipe 20A USb.Any help would be appreciated. I would download,install,update and then restart and run ewido in safemode. also try an online scan at http://safety.live.com/ and at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ also ms has a removal tool Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool

while cleaning you'll need to disable system restore. after it's clean then enable it again. gaobot changes the hosts file so you'll need to replace it. for info on your hosts file http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
