I have all of my image files associated with Adobe Photoshop 7.0. If I double click on a file to open it, Adobe starts but the file doesn't open. I have to go to file, open and then choose the file. Then it opens with no problem.
I have Windows XP Pro and have tried reinstalling photoshop and have searched everywhere but couldn't find a similar issue. Any thoughts?
After installing the update, if the pictures still don't open, open them as you have been doing through the menu and resave them. Then try the double click method.
Take care,
Linda

Adobe has great support forums in case you don't get the problem solved here. I had a similar problem with Photoshop Elements and got it solved on the Adobe forums.

Try going into your browser settings and make sure your browser isn't set to open them as the default program. There's a lot of .jpg images on the Net and browser do open them as you knnow. If it is set as the default opener by changing that your browser will still open them.
