After acrobat started failing on me I tried uninstalling and than installing with latest version. Now when I try to install I get the error message"Setup cannot find required product. Setup will now terminate." I have tried various versions of adobe acrobat and all are giving me the same message.

Your old installation of Acrobat must be completely uninstalled. If you uninstalled in Add/Remove, then search your system for any files named Adobe or Acrobat and delete them. Download and install the 30 day free trial of RegCrawler (find on Google). Use it's search box to look for Adobe and Acrobat. If this is the only Adobe program you have installed, then delete everything it finds. New Acrobat should now install.

JohnO offers some sound advice but before combing through the registry for Adobe remnants, how are you trying to install Acrobat and what version? Many newer versions of Acrobat get installed into different paths than older versions. What was there and what's going in now?

I should have mentioned that I tried deleting all acrobat remains in the regsitry earlier, rebooting and tried to reinstall with no luck. I am trying to install the latest version of reader off the adobe website. Version 7 i think. I had version 6 installed previously and was uninstalled by the add/remove programs method sucessfully. I will try to find regcrawler.

This may be a long shot but there's a chance you may be having Installer related problems not just associated with Adobe. The only way to test that theory is to try installing something else that requires an Installer.
