Hi Gemma,

Well, I am using Norton Antivirus Internet Security and it has been working fine. I tried AVG's free edition, but it let me down and that's why I decided that free doesn't always mean it works better.

I wish I knew anough to answer your administrator rights question. In a lot if ways I am still green.

Also, you may want to get Spy Sweeper from Webroot. I use that too and it works great! Hope this hels.

Hey Gemma,

I would highly recommend downloading Avast! Home Edition anti-virus, it's free and works better than any anti-virus program I've used including Norton or Mcafee(no offense to those who use them) plus it's not memory hungry and doesn't try to take over your computer. You can download it here: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/OptimizeXP.html Also download Spybot and Microsoft Antispyware from the same site, they are both very good for spyware, adware, and malware and Microsoft Antispyware includes a tracks eraser utility for added security.

Now as far as the administrator privleges: If you are running XP Home Edition, I don't have an answer. However, if you are running XP Pro, click start, run and a type gpedit.msc, click on administrative templates under either heading (Computer Configuration or User Configuration)and have fun.

I hope this helps.
