Is there any way to enable the built-in Administrator account under Widnows XP Home? I can currently only access it via Safe Mode.

go to control panel/user accounts and select change the way users log on or off. Take the checks out of Use Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching. Now log off or hit the Windows+L keys and when the login box comes up type in Administrator. I have been using XP home for 9 months and have never needed to use the adminisrtator account. In XP home if you have administrator priveledges on your user account you can do anything that you can do with the administrator account.
You can also go here and get a VBS script that will enable Administrator on the welcome screen in XP home. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_admin_ok.htm

I found this at http://members.aol.com/axcel216/wxp.htm
There are also a lot of other tweaks listed there for Win9x/NT4/2000/ME/XP/3.1x/IE etc.
©Tweaks, Secrets, BUGs + FIXesWELCOME ADMINISTRATOR!
To display the Administrator (master: Admin/Sysadmin) account on the Windows XP Welcome logon screen, fire up Regedit (or Regedt32) and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
Create (if not present) a new Value: right-click on an empty spot in the right hand pane -> select New -> DWORD [REG_DWORD] Value -> name it Administrator -> click OK -> double-click on it -> check the Decimal box -> type 1 -> click OK.
Modify (if present) the "Administrator" DWORD [REG_DWORD] Value: highlight it in the right hand pane -> select Modify -> check the Decimal box -> type 1 -> click OK.
Close the Registry Editor when done.
From now on, whenever you logon as Admin/Sysadmin [ONLY IF you have administrator rights to the computer you're trying to boot into :)] you'll see the Administrator account on the Welcome display.

Neither of above work. Just get "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction" dialog. I don't use the Welcome screen anyway, and had already tried adding Administrator to the user list in the Registry.
