I know that when you're a limited user, It dosen't let you access certain files that can effect the computer greatly. I was wondering if there was a program out there, a special setting or something that can make alimited user still not able to install programs but allows you to play games, or at least certain ones. I have The Sims 2, but I always have to be logged on as admin to play it. I bet it's because It needs certain files that Limited users can't access, it get's really annoying, is there anything that can help me?

you have to research what files are needed to be accessed, then you can make a GPO (group policy object) to allow just what you need access to.

probably cause its his brother or sister or someone and he doesnt want them to mess around with the computer
Log onto your admin account.
Copy a shortcut of your Sims 2 file on your desktop.
go to
My computer>c:>Documents and settings>(x user with limited rights)>Desktop> Paste the shortcut onto your desktop (if its not there alreadyNow
Right click the icon>Properties>Security> Add> xuser name and there u go ur set

When I right-click and Prperties, there is no "Security Tab." also, the GPO thing might work, how do I do it?

I was thinnking of making myself a Power User. I was lookin through what you could do with consoles (Start->Run->mmc) I think that Power User will get me the right settings but how do I use a console? I made it so that I was in the "User" and "Power User" group. When I looked at my account in the control panel, sence the only settings in there are "Limited" and "Administrator" it said "Unknown Account." Nothing changes eather. Whenever I try to play The Sims 2, the big logo comes up, waits a second and then goes away to start loading the game, but then this error comes up "Unknown Error" I know that's the computer trying to access the files that I can access. I dont know what to do.
