Most Virus and Spyware scans are likely to work better in Windows Safe-Mode.

Using IE makes computer better targets for Malware.
So you should scan anyway.

Yahoo.com doesn't re-direct but many other sites may. It is part of ways to provide content based on various factors.

It can be as above malware.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

a) my auto complete was disabled....always is...
b) i clean daily with "advanced windows care"...once a week with "superantispyware"...."ccleaner"....and scan with "avg" once a week...

example here ....i start typing yahoo immediately it cuts in and types 360....or some blog name...or something i maybe clicked on...or something from google....yada yada...

another example when i go to msn......i start typing in "msn into the browser... and it types in this as soon as i hit the letter m...msn Dating & Personals - Top five reasons to go for a younger man.url....
stupid things like that it will just copy itself and paste into my browser...

thanks to all those who tried to help me....but it is not either of those...
