Specs: Windows XP
Each time I add a photo as background for desktop, the previous photo is deleted. How can I make my photos stay in the list of backgrounds permanently?

✔ Best Answer
Resize the photos to the resolution of your monitor. Put the photos or copies of them in to the \Windows\Web\Wallpaper directory. Now you can choose the photo of your choice as desktop wallpaper. This photo will always be in \Windows\Web\Wallpaper directory even if you change the desktop wallpaper again.

The way you started the background is the key. If the file or photo file is on your hard drive then it would stay. So, save the file to somewhere and then it will remain as a choice. If you want you could fool with it to move it to the location for backgrounds but it isn't worth it.

Hang up and live.

You are naming the photo files the same. This is the problem. You are overwritting the original picture file which appears that the picture was deleted.

solution is to do as suatcini suggests but name the photo file a unique name.
It can be as simple as photo1, photo2, photo3.

Then go into the desktop properties and desktop background
With the browse button find the photo# you want and set it as the background.

Do the same process when you want to change to photo2 and so on.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Thanks to all who responded. i selected suatcini as best answer ,even though I didn't have to change my photos to the screen resolution for them to work O.K. I just loaded them into the wallpaper folder as is, and they're O.K.
