ADAWARE Will Not Load ???

February 7, 2005 at 08:32:23
Specs: XP HOME, Cent/256

I've loaded Zone Alarm many times on other PCs.

This current will install fine, but when rebooting, it does not load automatically (as usual). If I go to Start and run it manually, it will do the icon is connected to nothing.

However, when booting in Safe Mode, the program will launch and run.

The machine seems pretty clean. It has been scanned/cleaned several times using several tools.

Any advice appreciated.

Try completely removing ZoneAlarm, then re-install.

I did try that earlier.

It will not uninstall in regular mode. The error message:

"cannot load vsmon.exe" appears.

However, it will uninstall if in Safe mode.
I have uninstalled in safe mode. Rebooted, downloaded the program again, reinstalled, but the same thing happens.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Do you by chance have XP's firewall running as well? If so, disable it and re-try what you have already tried.
