I am unable to run Active X controls and programs requiring java. I have tried downloading java, and know that usually Active X controls can be adjusted under the internet options window. However, I have no "Advanced" tab under the options like I should. Also, when I double click on the globe in the lower right corner of IE, which I know should take you to the options window, I get a warning that reads: "The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." Well, I am the administrator! I have no idea why this is. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am totally stuck! Thank you! JOHN
If you don't have Spybot Search & Destroy installed go to the link below and click on "Win XP Fixes" then look on the right side of the page and choose "Restore Missing Tabs in Internet Options" and download and run the "xp_ie_missing_tabs.vbs" file and save this file to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and double click the file. The script will prompt you when its finished.
