About 6 months ago this Version 7 of Acronis True Image was offered as free, I downloaded it but never got a chance to use it, I have PQ Drive Image 2002, but don't think it will work now on xpsp2? does anybody know where there may be a copy to download legally, or does anyone share this file for free.

If you do a google etc. trawl using:

Acronis free Version 7 True Image

as the search term/string... you'll get numerous download sites for the Acronis freebie...

Too many to list here...

Drive Image 2002 works fine with XP with or without SP2. I have used it (very often) for years.

ummm... Sorry about that... Saw the hits (many of them) but didn't check them for actual currency...

Since most (all?) of them point to the Acronis site... I guess that's why it ain't there no-more...

Pistal,

I thought you already took advantage of the free version when murr first posted about it in the 2006 thread below.

the offer as such is no more, but ...

"Seagate has released a version of Disc Wizard and Maxtor’s Max Blast 5, but what makes these utilities highly on the “me want” list is the fact that both are based on the OEM version of the excellent True Image app. Disc Wizard and Max Blast utilities now offer a plethora of options that give people options previously offered only by commercial applications. Disc Wizard/Max Blast feature disk drive cloning, full disk imaging, formatting drives, creating partitions, erasing all the data on the drive - for the best price of them all."

so if you're a proud owner of a seagate or maxtor hard drive, then grab your free copy :)

Yeah go grab your copy of Seagate DiscWizard NOW. Guess what - the DiscWizard is powered by Acronis anyway.

Mine is a Seagate so will look into this.

X-P User I did download that Acronis free download, but had a lot going on and never copied it then when a power outage goofed up my computer I was LOST SO HAD to reinstall and for some reason that was not in my downloads files that I saved so I am out of luck on that download, but am downloading Disk Wizard right now as I have a Seagate drive. One of the reasons I lost the download was my Maxtar drive went bad about 6 months ago and had to do a reinstall at that time, I guess thats when I lost it, this time the electrical goofed it up, I still have my hard drive that is a Maxtar I just don't have it hooked up, I am going to hook it up and see if it is there and see if I can get a copy of that file, I have the Maxtar drive in the computer but not hooked up because parts of the drive is no good, but parts are good so may I can get into it and see if I can copy that file. Thank all of you for this help, as I can not afford these software programs really, I want them but just can't afford them.

Thanks Again, this time I backed the program up to a disk right away, before I install it, and will make the back up disks. I just love this Computing Net Forum. I also saved my old Maxtor drive, I am going to try and fix the bad sectors by erasing it and also use it as a back up I will do one one month to the disks and one the next month to the Maxtor drive then should be ok. On the Maxtor drive it was out of warranty was only good for 1 year and the year was up, I probably could have used it some more.
