Hi,
Whenever I turn on my cimputer or plug in my cable, "Acquiring Network Address" appears in the taskbar as the network icon and stays there until I unplug the cable and plug it in again.
The thing is, the network connection itself seems to work fine as I can browse etc. just fine while the "Acquiring Network Address" is displayed.
The only think I can think of that I've changed recently is that I installed BOClean and a bunch of Windows Updates. I can't see it being related to BOClean.
I've always recently began having trouble with my torrent connections, which you can read about here. It may or may not be related. The network problem began about a week or two prior to the torrent issue:

Do you by chance have TWO NICs. Maybe one integrated and one add-in card?

This may also be a wireless card attempting connectivity. Check your network connections and see which ones are set to show when connected and show with limited or no connectivity.
