Same problem over here, i've bought the dazzling piece of graphics the name given to it by Microsoft is Windows XP i.e. WinXP. But But wait a minute my dearest Acer Scanner 640P doesnot work on it coz it does;nt have the driver nor the Acer site has developed a driver for the device.HuH
Computing.Net plz as soon as ya get the sol plz contact me. Thanks.

Ehehe, yeap, I got my good 'ol 340P and asolutely no luck, I guess it serves me right for buying a Acer product, hardly any of their products even support win2k. I hope if they do release a 640P driver maybe it will work with my 340 ? Until then, I'll try scanning in linux instead....

yeah ,, i know that problem with the 640p acer scanner , but i get an old scaner driver . and install it on xp and it work,s but still one problem .. you have to chose waether the scanner or the printer .. if you gonna use the printer you have to uninstall the scannere .. and so on .. but we hope the solution come from acer .. they are no1 responsoble for that ..

Yes, i get the same problem, but...
First i use the driver found in the ACER page at the following link:
http://www.acercm.com.au/products/scan/service/drivers/MiraScan342P.zipAfter i follow the steps mentioned in the HTML file founded inside the driver file i get windowsXP to recognize the Scanner and the driver was installed successfully, the problem is when i make a test twindowsXP tell that the scanner is not connected to the computer....
Please all try the driver and do your work maybe someone could solve this problem and post it here thanks a lot...

Eurika, I found it!
I sent Acer Tech Support a note about the problem and they sent me the installation instructions for MiraScan342P.zip on Windows XP. It actually works!!!!
I can't attach the document here, but I'll email it to the people looking for this answer.

ok i need to know how i can get my scanner to work. i have a acer scanner 3.02. it says that windows xp does not support this scanner. is this a waste of money for me to have bought this scanner? can you please tell me how i can get this scanner to work with xp? it says the twain dlls are corrupt.please let me know asap

ATTENTION ALL ACER PRISA SCAN 320/620P USERS:
Get the trial version or a basic version of Adobe Photo Deluxe thats sometimes packaged with your Recovery Disk programs. Install this program then download their EPSParsr Plug in Update From their website ( It would be under their Adobe Phot deluxe Home Edition). Download this parser and add it in your Photo Deluxe Plug In Folder, click replace and replace the older EPSParsr program. Then insert your Color Flatbed scanner disk (Version 3.0, 90.69539.030 Edition)that came with your scanner and double click on mirascan. After its installed you must restart your machine. Start up Adobe Deluxe Home edition and disregard XP's warning and press continue and choose scanner and scan away. *ONE SMALL PROBLEM YOU CANNOT SCAN HIGHER THAN 200 DPI's. That should work until a new driver is developed or its within your budget to buy an XP compatible Scanner. OH! and this time, not an ACER Product.........
