Acer 52x cd rom, Win XP Pro

I have an acer 52x cd rom running on win xp pro and the problem is that when you insert a second disc to install a programme the rom doesn`t always recognise the new disc. Could this be a problem with the rom drive or a clash with win xp pro.

I have the same damn problem with my Acer56x, it was driving me crazy. I think this finally fixed the problem. If you have a soundblaster live our audigy (which i have), look for a program under you control panel called (Disc Detector) and disable, the enable disc detector button! Hopefully this well help!

I have the same problem and haven't fixed it yet. I am suspicious that XP Pro has used the internal driver for the drive rather than the Acer driver. The retailer of my computer has so far failed to fix the problem. I've just emailed Acer directly. I'll let you know if they fix the problem.
