Comment:
The DOS accountant application I have is working (regarding printing) well on W98SEdition, but when I running it under XP HE where I installed the INKJET 2030 LEXMARK DRIVERES for XP (CJ202030SE.exe on internet), the printing( a balance for ex.) is working only under TXT option, and that on multiple pages (not only one as in W98SE). I set the BIOS LPT port as ECP+EPP or SPP as somebody told me! But nothing! What to do?
DOS applications do not use the XP drivers, they send their output directly to the printer port (usually LPT1) sharing the spool subsystem only. Otherwise DOS programs rely on their own drivers/settings to print as in DOS drivers were not part of the operating system. So you have to tweak the settings belonging to the application as any other intervention on XP components is no meaning.
