accessing two hard drives

Specs: Windows 7
Helol all , my problem is we have an old computer and the memory was full . All we had on it was pictures and music so a friend of a friend said fit a bigger memory along side the other and use both . So i have fitted the second mem and connected it I can manage to find it but cant find pictures or music . As you can probably tell i am not very good with computers would be gratefull for anything usefull .

My memory I am assuming you mead a hard disk. Memory is RAM, a different thing altogether.

As it is an old computer I am assuming that the hard disks are P-ATA. If so are these two drives on the same cable? Are the jumpers properly configured for slave and master. If it is on the same cable as the CD/DVD drive one still needs to be configured for slave and master.

If they are SATA drives then its a different ball game altogether.

You probably just need to take ownership of the files/folders on the old hard drive. Windows 7 doesn't know you are the owner of those files. To learn how to take ownership of files/folders in Windows 7 click on the link below this response.
