Comment:

Several months ago, the Hantra virus infected my computer and succeeded in ruining my Windows XP Professional OS on drive C:\. Flustered, I abandoned the corrupted OS on drive C:\ and installed a fresh version of Windows XP on drive D:\. However, a slight problem has no arisen...

I wish to retrieve files that were stored in the user profile of my previous Windows XP installation, but am unable to do so. The user profile folder in C:\Documents and Settings is "locked" and I get a "permission denied" whenever I try to enter it. Is there anyway to bypass this?

I have tried using the Windows XP File Transfer Wizard but it keeps telling me it can't find drive C:\.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
