How do I access my BIOS so I can overclock some components? I tried Delete on system startup, as well as F1, F10 and F2. The only one to bring me to anything was F2 but I didn t see any place to edit FBS etc. Can someone help me with this?

I have an Intel Pentium D 830 processor. And, are there any pointers for overclocking?

Thanks to whomever

You have accessed BIOS with F2 so what is the problem ? maybe because you bought an OEM PC it does not have any BIOS features ? Contact SONY and complain you can not overclock ?

If you need help accessing the BIOS settings, perhaps you shouldn't be considering trying to overclock anything.
Overclocking can fry components, like the CPU, video card, RAM, etc.
It would also void any warranties you might have on your machine.
Overclocking should only be attempted by those that know exactly what they are doing.

With the warnings of the folks above ringing in your ears... visit the web-site for your PC and see what they offer regarding accesing the bios (and the same info will usually be in the manual).

Personally I can't really see any useful benfits of overclocking...; other than the equivalent "high" that some car/auto enthusiasts get from skimming (a few thousands of an inch off) the head of an engine block to increase compression and thus "improve" overall acceleration/performance of the car...

If you want a faster system then buy one; or at least upgrade the cpu as far as the Mobo etc. will allow - this being a safer/wiser option?
