she formatted computer today thinking it was a bug.i use this same program and my memory climbs to maybe 230mb of memory being used.she has tried dvd santa and that does not work either memory climbs to high and conversion never finishes.could it be a bad stick of ram doing it??any suggestions to help me troubleshoot is greatly appreciated.it will take me time to respond as i am helping her over the net.she has formatted comp..reinstalled converting programs.

Maybe the unit has a limited amount of Virtual RAM to use.

Check those settings and see how much free space there is on her hard drive.

If she has very little free space, or the Virtual RAM settings are set low, then the unit will turn to Physical RAM everytime.

hi fj

her VM is set min to 384 and max i think was 1024.she has alot of free space on the h/d..i beleive she is putting it on the h/d with 18gb free.this program still should not of used that much ram..i used same program on my p3 450mhz no troubles with memory at all..and im using it on my p4.i have not yet talked with her this morning..but she was attempting to use dvd santa again lastnight and i told her to watch the memory increases..to see if it climbs high again.

thanx for the response.
