Access my documents on old HDD

I just installed my old hdd as a slave onto my new computer and i have some crucial files saved in my documents on that old hdd and when i try to open it it says access denied, please someone help me out. Thanks alot

If the harddrive you installed has a operating system on it then go into bios and change your first boot device to be that harddrive and boot to it first then see if from that drive you can pull up your other drive.

sounds like if you change the file permissions you'll be able to see them...if its xp pro right click the folder and select security and change the file permissions(might want to disable simple file shareing)....xp home boot to safe mode and login as administrator and right click the folder and change the file permissions....good luck...be careful too...
