access is denied for folder

Hi,
I have a problematic folder that refuses to let me delete it because something has appeared to lock me out. Because I am using XPHome, I don't have access to the security tab. I tried running the command prompt with cacls [foldername] /t /g "Eli Luong":F to give myself full permissions, but that still gave me an access denied. Do I have to boot up into some other thing, like a live linux CD or something, to fix this?

G'day eli2k,
Try a search for deleting files, there is a system that deletes any file when booting.

I think Old Salt is talking about MoveOnBoot. It's a freeware program that'll delete locked files/folders when the computer reboots.

Thank you. I'll give this a try. I'd rather not have to reboot the computer, but I guess I cannot avoid it this time.

Also, try to rt click the folder - security tab - and check if you have all rights to edit the folder. If the problem is related to this simple bug, unselect all inhibitory ticks and all will be ok most probably.
