My desktop and laptop on my network can see each other on my user group. I have identical user account on the two computers. but when I try to access any documents shared or not from either computer it says \\computername or folder/file not accessible You might not have permissions to use this network resource Contact administrator etc Access denied. Please help

A couple quick question,, when you say try to access them,, you mean run them or copy them?
are all of the files inside a folder,, and you can't open the folder ?
With identical user accounts,, are the passwords the same as well?
If your not learning,, your just sitting there

check that "everyone" has full control on the share
Golly gee wilerkers everyone! Learn to Internet Search

When I Click My Networks>Microsoft Windows Network>MyWorkgroup> I see both my Laptop & Desktop listed. If I click Laptop to view files from my Desktop I see that message. I dont understand wanderer's question What share?
