Hi, I recently lost my laptop due to a system board failure. I removed the hard drive, got an external case for it, and hooked it up to my desktop. Problem: "access denied" when trying to access old "my documents" I searched these boards and found that I may be able to go into safe mode as the admin. and change the security settings for the folder. 1) is this what i need to do? 2) being that the pc is not on a network, and there are no users set up, is the initial log-on to windows the "admin." account? thanks for any help.
