I can't remember how I did it, but I was able to separate the quick lunch bar from the task bar and place it on the left of the screen by itself.

Any suggestion would be very appreciated.

PS: the following the a rough display
(!! is the quick lunch bar, and == is the task bar)

Just to clarify, the taskbar is the entire bar running across the bottom of the screen. Quick launch is the group of icons next to the Start button. System tray is the group of icons next to the clock. The start button, quick launch & systray are all part of the taskbar.

Follow SysLock's instructions to unlock the taskbar, then left click on the taskbar, hold the button & drag the taskbar to where you want it.

Azen, You can do that with Windows Vista but I don't know if it works for Windows XP. Here's a link with instructions.

Hmm, I'm not sure how I did it.
I un-check some task bar options and then I can move the quick launch bar.

Here is the options I un-checked:
lock the taskbar;
auto-hide the taskbar;
group similar taskbar;
show quick launch;
show the clock;
hide inactive icons

Also, I updated my xp to sp3. Maybe this is a new function in SP3.
