I have tried just about all the normal fixes, but my homepage setting in IE Options reverts immediately to About Blank when changed.It does seem to be a true blank page rather than a divert to any spurious site.The computer appears free of any spyware etc. Here's an extract from Hijack This with the About Blank entry.
