I had a terrible crash yesterday, i used to have a ASUS A7V600-X motherboard and when i used the bios update feature, it corrupted and completely cleared my bios, even using the support cd didn't fix it, all i had was a black screen, i cleared the the cmos and did everything i could but to no avail its gone, so instead of sending the chip to asus to be reflashed i bought another motherboard, i just bought the ABIT AN7, put the system together and just as the winxp logo showed up i got a blue screen of death which was too quick to read then it just restarted, so i had to reinstall xp, ok the first problem, it seems to take an age for winxp to load, not very long for the xp logo bit but just before the logon screen it takes at least 2 mins to come up,while its donig that there is no hardrive activity at all then the logon screen appears i have no idea what is causing this for i have 2 installations of xp on seperate partitions on my pc, the other for music and still does the same, second problem, NVIDIA Drivers, i have a gforce fx 9200 and when i install the new 61.77 drivers when winxp boots up it just goes black and says out of scan range,i think its ok with ealier drivers but havnt put them on yet so i am just using the basic generic vga driver that comes with xp so i can aleast type this message, i really hope someone can please please help me, my system config is as follows,
AMD Athlon Xp 2700+, 512MB Ram, Asus NVIDIA GeForce Fx 9200,Terratic DMX 6fire 24/96 Soundcard, 1x IDE Maxtor 60GB HD, 1x Serial ATA Maxtor 120GB Hardrive,ABIT AN7 Motherboard
AMD Xthlon Xp 2700+ 512mb DDR RAM Geforce FX 9200 Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96 Soundcard 2 x Maxtor 120gb Serial ATA

Sounds like a video driver to me. The "out of scan range" message is usually from the monitor itself. Boot up in safe mode (f8) and fix from there?
