A problem with system sounds

CPU/Ram: 1.06 Ghz/256

Some of the system sounds play, like menu popup but most of them wont. Maximize for example wont play. I made sure that the paths are accurate and saved the sound scheme, made sure the files are not corrupted, they play well on media player, all other sounds from CD, modem etc play well. Sound driver is working well. What could be the proble?

Hoorray, solved the problem!! All I had to do is to go to the registry and look for hkey_current_user. Click on hkey_current_user. On the right hand side under reg_sz there should be no value. Delete any entry that may be there, and reboot. Sounds will be back miraculously!!
