Hello,

I've tried the search option but could not find anything specific for my machine, so I am asking for a little guidance to completely erase my hard drive and re-install my WinXP. This computer is 3 years old and running really slow due to trojans and registry issues.

I have the original disk that came with the computer that's titled "Operating System"

"Reinstallation CD Microsoft WinXP Home Ed."

And the key is on a decal on the side of my computer.

So I ask, What's the process?

I also have my CDRom set to boot up first in the BIOS.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Thanks for the immediate response. That link looks very helpful.

I'm going to give it a go, and if you don't hear back from me, it means I screwed it up.

Nah! Just jokin', I've got a couple of machines. This is just one of my older ones That I'm trying to save.

Thanks again, and I'll get back to you to let you know how it goes.

I can't thank you enough for your help.

This computer is running like brand new.

It took a little work to figure out the process of extracting proper drivers for the network adapters from the Dell Resource CD, but I figured it out.

Thanks again Saber'
