Unfortunately my pc has infected my pc. It's the ZCREW.B virus running a process called hidden.32. My updated AVG can't detect it, nor can house call. I'm up to date with my spyware programs. Now surely I don't need to install every virus program available to keep my pc clean, otherwise most of my hard drive will be full of these programs plus my net and pc would run too slow. If housecall or AVG can't find it, then how do I get rid of this pest?
Damn I hate trojans grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks.

Follow the Removal Instructions for Windows XP at the link below.

I have followed the instructions, and I believe I'm free from the virus.
I've not had this much hassle with a virus since the blaster worm lol.
I wish I knew how it got there, but alas I guess most of us would love to know too. Many thanks for the advice.

Nope!!!!!!! The damn thing is Still there grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I followed all the instructions, and it just will....not...go.
This virus is doing my head in.
Ahem just letting off steam. sorry. I'll keep trying for a bit then I feel It's backup and format time.
Many thanks for the help though people, I'm still open to ideas.

Have you turned off system restore? It may be hidding in there and if it is, you will have to turn off SR, restart and then turn it back on again.

yoda, Michelle67 has a good point to turn off System Restore, restart the computer, then turn it on again. The Symantec instructions also tell you to do that. You may want to then run a virus scan in SAFE mode.

systen restore has beem turned off from the beginning of the problem.
All scans were done in safe mode, house call deleted the 3 it found (after deleting 6 it found on previous scan).
Many thanks for this help.
