Comment:

I lost my select OS boot screen(98/XP Pro).
I recovered it with recovery console but now I'm left with a third choice of "XP Pro Setup" along with start xp or 98.
How do I remove this setup option?

You need to go into System Properties:
Click START
Click CONTROL PANEL
Click SYSTEM
System Properties - will be displaid
Click ADVANCED tab
At the bottom clcik on the SETTINGS button under Startup and Recovery
clcik on EDIT at the top section under DEFAULT OPERATING SYSTEMS

you can then modify the settings to suit your requirements

Check your boot.ini file. You can edit it if you feel comfortable. This will get rid of the other choice.

I have 98 and XP dual boot up as well. For future use, how would I use the recovery console if I run into the same problem?
