Hi,
Ok from the top

I used to have a GF2 MX400, ran like a charm in Counter-Strike 1.6
No FPS drop, only in smoke and game play was really consistent
Livable, i could still play without being disadvantaged by hardware specifications.

Ok, went a mates house he offered to give me his 9200SE for my GF2, simply because he wasnt using the card for any gaming and its resources were going to waste.
So i installed it. Went to ATi.com

Downloaded Control Panel 5.5
Installed it

Now, when i go into counter-strike, i can run threw smoke and stuff perfectly. But in online play, when ever theres people around me or when i start to shoot
my FPS drop dramatically.

Used driver cleaner removed Both old nVidia and the new ATi drivers and tried Catalyst control center.

Ok, Started CS after playing around with the options in the control center.
SMOOTH AS 100FPS constant and 100HZ on my monitor while in game.

As soon as people come near me......

FPS drops dramatically to like 40 :|

and it wont go up until they go away.

I'v done virus scans/spyware scans and know for a fact that i dont have either a virus or spyware and that the problem is in the drivers..

any one recommend some old drivers for me or a solution plz ?!
Computer SPECS

Intel P4 1.8
4X AGP slot
512 DDR pc2100 RAM
180 GIG of space

Well, i can tell you that anything by radeon with SE is just not good. I can also tell you that if u uninstall that stupid cat control center from the add/remove programs, you will see Improvement.

I have tried the Omega drivers and they seemed kool at first, but they turned out to be junk, so i would say to find another set of drivers. Try looking from some beta drivers. I love those things, they are so awesome and deliver good performance.

Don't use a weakness, don't change the subject, don't ask the questions if you fear the answer

All I can say, is that my life is pretty plain, you may not like my point of views, but that’s ok

There is a tweaking guide here:

http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html

It's for the ATI Catalyst Ctrl Center. Basically it disables the Control Center from loading, and you just need to do a little work around whenever you want to change the core settings. The guide assumes you aren't changing settings every day, which is why you're able to disable the program, which eats up resources.

Whenever people come near you, I'm assuming it bumps up the number of polygons that must be drawn, which is why there is a slow-down. Maybe try turning down some details?
