If you're running XP home, then you are running at 32 bits, not 64.
there is a version of XP that support 64 bit but it is still in Beta format. If this is a factory load from HO, then it's not 64 bit.

thanks for that , i know tha xp is 32 bit but wondered where in device manager or such does it say that or is it just something we all know.. gemma

For now it's assumed that it would be 32 bit. I even ran a diagnostic program called Everest and I couldn't find anything that indicated the bitrate. As 64 bit operating systems and programs become more common, you will probably see more info about it.

Are you asking if your CPU will run 64 bit?
If so, Everest may tell you what CPU you have and with that information, you would be able to tell whether you CPU is a 64 bit processor.
