Hi Bill
Have you removed the other 3 speakers? I know it sounds like a stupid question but.....

On a hot summers night would you offer your throat to the Wolf with the Red Roses?

It's not a stupid question Wolfey. My C-Media card does the same thing. When I have the front only plugged in it sets it self to 2 channel. I add a back channel set of speakers and it sets up for 4 channel. I think more smarter sound cards do the same.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

Perhaps I didn't word my question correctly= I have a set of Z680 speakers-5.1. If I turned on my sound right now, the system would only be using 2.1. I go into Creative Audio HQ and set it to 5.1 and it is fine. But tomorrow morning, it will reset it self to 2.1. Any help? And thanks, guys.

Bill

ok that's clearer now.
Try> 1> make sure all speakers are powered up at the time the computer is booted up.
2> shut down and remove the card. Then power up without the card. Once completely booted up, shut it down. Reinstall the card and boot back up. Let xp find the card and load the drivers for it.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...
