3dmark 2001 se needs directx 8.1??

i have installed diretx 9.0b or whatever but now 3dmark 2001 se is telling me that i need directx 8.1 and over to run it....what's going on???

Hi. You can download a small patch for 3DMark 2001 SE, which will then enable you to run it with DirectX 9.0. Visit MadOnion.com for the patch. Hope you get a good score!
Summary: i tried it but was unable to overwrite ..which means ... after installing 9a ...its still shows as 8.1 ... and i went to dl a directx 8.1 ...still the same .... i guess i would need to remove it first...
