3 days left for activation

Specs: XP sp2, AMD Sempron / 1024 r

Starting today I've been getting this message
" 3 days left for activation - since windows was first activated on this computer, the hardware on the computer has changed significantly. Due to these changes, windows must be reactivated within 3 days-"

I bought this new computer 1 1/2 years ago and haven't upgraded or reconfigured anything on it. What is this all about? Why such a short notice? Thought you only had to reactivate windows after "significant" changes.

Been through this with my old computer when I upgraded the memory. Was unable to do it online and had to "call" Microsoft to solve the problem. It was a pain to say the least.

I would call Microsoft and tell them about it. It sounds like a glitch.

Thanks for the quick reply. Or should I just go through with the online activation and forget about it? hoping it is not a long as the last time, LOL.

Go through it if it deactivates XP call Microsoft asap. Just tell them you didn't change anything in on your pc and you are getting this odd activation messege.
