I am conteplating adding a 2nd HDD to my system. My 1st HDD is 20GB and has 4 partitions c:win98,D:Server200,E:XP-PRO,F:Spare what I would like to do is reinstall my xppro, update it and add all my needed programs once I have done that I would like to create a ghost image of my xppro and put it on my new 20Gb HDD which I will partition into two 50%/50% and format both partitions to fat32.
How Will I be able to create the ghost image onto the 2nd HDD 1st partition which will have more than enough space to hold the image.
Please note that I have not put a 2nd HDD in before but know that the 2nd HDD will be the slave and I have not used ghost before either.
I know the above is asking alot for and an answer but if someone could help I would really appreciate it.
Thanking you in anticipation.

You always want your harddrive to be master. Put second harddrive on secondary master. I would recommend power quest drive image myself.

Look here Duncan.

All show only one way - that is as primary slave.
Good luck.

For the purporse of copying a drive or imaging a drive one harddrive on primary master and second harddrive on secondary master. Both drives on master.

I had no trouble creating an image of my main drive to my second hard drive. I also has no problem restoring image from second drive.

Look under Installation Procedure
http://bratlady.com/pcstuff/adddrive.shtmlIt specifically states that if you want to use Norton Ghost, make the second hard drive the slave.
My last on this subject.

Thanks for the info I will digest and try out the above and if anything else can be added to assist I would appreciate it very much.
Thanking you all in anticipation again

I've done this but not with so many partitions. Be sure to backup your data before you do anything...
The key i think would be you want to ghost a Partition to partition to partition.
If there is an argument about the location o you physical drive (primary ide0 or slave ide1) I wouldn't think that would matter. but you may have some problems in your boot.ini with all drive letter changing.
good luck sounds like an interesting adventure.
