24/7 PC hangs after about 24 hours

December 3, 2010 at 13:41:11
Specs: Windows XP, 2.0ghz /1mb
My computer stops responding after about 24 hours. I leave it on 24/7 for telephone service but when I go to the computer and move the mouse nothing happens. The screen save just sits there. I shut it off and everything starts back up and is fine for another 24 hours. I have cleaned out ant debris or dust bunnies, checked to make sure all the fans are running, made sure that all devices are plugged in properly and inserted fully into their respective slots. I have updated all drivers and windows xp. I have run a virus scan, and one of these new computer cleaner software programs. There are only 4 programs on the computer other than what windows puts on there by default. They are magicjack, digital tv2pc, winoptomizer, and avg antivirus. This is driving me nuts. HELP

have you got it set to hibernate or go to sleep? If so, that could be your problem. In your power settings have everything set to never. I also use a laptop JUST for Magicjack, it runs 24/7
