240 MB of memory is more than enough to install Windows 98.
The following is the system requirements for Windows 98:
Memory
The Minimum: 16MB. Windows 98 runs much better with 24MB of RAM. For best results, I recommend at least 32MB, with 64MB being the bottom line for the truly impatient.
