hello,

I have a problem at hand, a serious one.
Earlier I had installed Windows XP professional, then I decided to install Windows XP Media Center. The problem is that when I get two options to i.e 2 OS to choose from(XP Media Center and XP Professional) but always Windows XP Media Center is selected by default. Also the timer is set to 0.I'm not able to choose XP Professional.Always Windows Media Center starts up.
I want to start Windows XP Professional,as I have installed many important softwares in it.
Someone please help me out.
I'd be higly obliged if someone do that.
Thanking you in advance.

Waiting for your precious advice.

with regards
Chin2

chin2, do you have them on seperate partitions? Put on the same one, one becomes dominant and won't tolerate the other. Two OSs become quite confusing for your machine.
Only possible solution I can think of is to get rid of one (do you still have the original disks for the other?).
Another thought is to search for the files you want/need and click on them then install in the OS if you have them on seperate partitions. Sorta the same as dual drives.

Or Right click on My Computer (desktop icon or Start menu) and select Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab, click on Startup and Recovery's Settings button (at the bottom)
There you can change the amount of time you have to select the OS of choice. (5 seconds is ample)

open the file c:\boot.ini with notepad, set the timer value to 10, save the file and reboot.

voilá, there's your timer :-)

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'
