There are 2 Windows Updates that will not COMPLETELY install.

It's really odd.

They will download, go through the installation process....will report that they HAVE installed (even the event log reports the installation)

But it also states that the computer needs to restart the Finish the installation.

I allow the computer to restart....after restart, I check for updates again....and the SAME 2 updates show as needing to be installed....as if nothing had ever happened.

I have tried the following:

I downloaded those 2 updates individually, started in safe mode, manually installed each one...one at a time......then Restarted in SAFE Mode again....then restarted once more to regular Windows.

Then...go and checked for updates...and, again, the same 2 (KB890830 and KB956572) show as needing to be installed...as if nothing had ever happened.

I do not know if it is something specific about these 2 updates or the process in general.

However....just yesterday, I had installed a large amount of updates (it had been a while).

All installed just fine.

After reboot...I had run Update again...just for good measure...and these 2 showed as needing to be installed (KB890830 and KB956572).

Since then....the above has occurred...they'll download, install "successfully," report to need to reboot...and after rebooting...there they are again on the "need to update" list.

Has anyone experienced this before and found a solution?

Hope all this makes sense......any advice appreciated.

THANKS
