Comment: If I put another sound board in my computer, is there any way I can have one board output front speaker signals, and the other output rear speaker signals, in order to have surround sound? --hackmiester

Reply: (edit)It's unlikely that will work. Most programs will only let you output to a single sound card. However, most sound cards these days (even the cheap $20 ones) have 5.1 surround sound. You might look into just replacing your current sound card. -Ryan Adams http://members.cox.net/rtadams89/

Reply: (edit)I agree with RTAdams. Most sound sources will only output to one sound card at a time. Even if by some quirk of configuration you managed to get the sound coming from both sound cards it would be out of sync and would sound like two different sound sources which basically is what it is. It would be like putting two mono radios together and expecting stereo. It wont work. Stuart
