I've got my hard drives (letters D to I) shared so one other computer on my network (via ADSL Modem Router) can see them. However, the two first drives (D & E) have suddenly been lost.
They are still selectable in the list of network places, but when computer 2 double-clicks them, it get's the "you don't have the right..." error, and when I double-click them, nothing happens.
I've tried right-clicking and going to the Sharing option in Windows Explorer, Unsharing them (D&E disappear from Network Places), and re-sharing them again. However, I just get the same problem. They're listed, but can't be opened or searched by either of us.
If I open D&E through My Computer or Windows Explorer, all is well. It's strictly in Network Places where they're inaccessable.
I can't think of what happened to make this problem appear, other than getting a new IP via DHCP. I don't know why it's just these two drives that aren't working, but I should mention that they're both IDE drives on the same cable, while all the rest are SATA drives plugged into an add-on card.

Doesn't sound like you checked the share permissions. Might want to start there. Compare the working share properties to the unworking share properties.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
