I wish to add another hard drive and install Win98SE on it. Otherwords, have two hard drives and two OS's to choose from when I start my computer. Is there a tutorial that covers this anywhere that I could download? Hopefully.

There are several ways to do that and the preferred method is installing 98 first on one drive then installing xp and let xp setup the multiboot function so you will have a option to boot to the system you desire upon starting the computer. You can install each operating system on a harddrive and then go into bios and change first boot device but that can be a hassle. Heres a mulitbooting guide here,

Many thanks everybody! I have been scanning this forum as well as Google for days now and all I have found is generalization when it comes to multibooting. As for a step by step tutorial of how to do it using two different hard drives I have yet to find it. I would prefer to be completely ready to install everything before reformatting this WinXP hard drive that I'm on now.

I still haven't checked out the URL's listed from you guys yet. I just wanted to jump back in and say thanks. Appreciate it.

I partition my drive & have 98 on the 1st part & all of 98 's programs on the 2nd part .

Xp is on the 3rd part & all of XP's programs on the 4th part .

The 2nd HD is a backup & exact copy of the 1st HD .

I use FAT32 on all drives & partitions .

As I said at first, there are many ways of doing it but there probably is a better way of the lot.

One more... Post 21665 (#5) on the W2K forum (here) details a dual-boot for '98/W2K - single/dual-drives. Replace W2K with XP and it's all there - in detail.

Personally I'd put both on the same (Master) drive an duse the second for additional data-storage/back-ups etc.
