Hello friends,
Everything was fine until i installed service pack 2. I fixed most of the problems. But there still are two annoying things for which i really need your help. And i don't want to remove SP2 'coz its really good at spyware kinda stuff.
1, The problem is that whenever i go to a music site and try to play a song (as a streaming media in real audio format), it should automatically open my real player and play it. But now, it doesn't do it nor does it open any player. But if i manually start real player and use its own browser to reach the webpage, then it plays fine.
It shouldn't be a file association problem 'coz all the real audio files in the hard drive do open up the real player. All this happened after service pack 2 installation.
2, The second thing is that Norton anti virus updates don't work. Everything except the ACTUAL VIRUS DEFINITONS is updated(eg: subscription update). But the main thing is the virus definitions.Right?
So please help me with these two problmes.

real player- version 10.0
norton antivirus 2004- version 10.0

program incompatibility = update from author/ or in some case a good old reinstall should get you up and running normal. Try the update first (many programs "broke" with sp2).

Truth can become lie, but if lies become truth we're in trouble.

Hafiz K Ibrahim, IMHO, there are a couple of things you need to check. SP2 was designed to make security tougher and it incorporated some changes by default that may be blocking you. One is the firewall. Make sure it is like you want. The other is Active X. Both music and updates utilize it and it may be set to not use. Check browser settings in tools>options>advanced>security.
