I have a 1.4ghz@1.53 AYHJA Tbird
EPox 8kha mobo
CoolerMaster fan on the CPU (AMD tested and aproved, I dont know the model number) 2 case fans, and an ANTEC SX1030b, a good cooling case (so i've heard) well for about 5-7 months now i've been running constantly at 115 degrees F on my cpu, no matter what I did or how much of it I did do, it was always at 115 or below. The other day out of nowhere, my temp control started beepin at me (on my mobo) and I checked the temp in the PC Health in my bios and it was 130! while this is not a GIGANTIC and disasterous jump im assuming, i still dont like it =) I havnt changed any hardware, and all I did was take out a power splitter cable inside. But that was about 2 months ago and this just happened 2 or 3 days ago. I havnt re-arranged any cables, or drives, and I havnt been doing any more INTENSE things on my computer than I normally do. Im runnin Windows XP if it matters, which it probably dont. The only thing I can think of is that the temp. outside has recently gone from cold to kinda warm, but my comps nowhere near a source of air from outside...anyone know what could cause this jump in temperature? Thanks

Hi

Try posting in the CPU/Overclocking forum. Didn't see your post there. Anyways, take off the side door of the antec case and then power up the computer. check to make sure all the fans are running ok..don't lose any fingertips by trying to touch spinning fan blades. If you can check the rpm of the fans in your BIOS see if they are running at their proper rpm level.

Not sure if the outside temperature would make that big a difference but it is quite possible. How much of an increase in temperature ? While you have the case open also check for an cables etc that would be possibly blocking any airflow. It never hurts to clean your fans. The antec case has pop out holders for the fans. If you take them out make sure you put them back in the same orientation as before.

If these basic steps do not solve it then post in the CPU/Overclocking forum.

Athlons are ok to 90 deg C anyway...mine runs around 140F all the time.Try setting your alarm higher, say 80 C if it's annoying you!
