Hi,
I have a asp.net application which runs on windows xp and communicates with some external devices. In the application if we wait for more than 10 min on a specific page and then proceed the next page (wich communicates with external device) hangs. In the task manager the process "winlogon" shows 100% cpu utilization. This problem is occuring on many of the machines we have. Is this a problem with "winlogon"? Why is it consuming so much CPU?

I had this problem on my pc recently and have had friends with the same issue. You have a virus defined by Macafee as elkern.cav.c. The latest Macafee or Norton antivirus programs should clean it up for you. Macafee did a fairly good job on my pc. Good luck.
