Sometimes (about once or twice a day) the CPU starts going at 100% and all of the programs stop responding. All of the system text (such as icon text and menu's) becomes corrupted, can only see top half of the text. I can't view which programs causes it b/c task manager doesn't respond, the only thing i can see is 100% cpu usage. I have reinstalled windows but the problem didn't go away. Looks like something is leaking memory or overheat. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

You need to turn off some stuff see this web site: http://www.tweakhound.com/supertweaks1.htm for things to turn off read them, and all I have in my start up msconfig file is My Internet Ans Service all the rest are unchecked and I went to this web site and took most of their suggestions....You also need to state your machine and cpu and mb, for the next guy or girls

Also you should scan for virus or trojans which could be the problem. You can get a free virus scan at

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

And download a program called Swat-It from

Good luck.
