I'm running a dual boot(win2000/xp pro) home built with an amd 1 gz processor. My cpu is running at or about 100% and being used by "SYSTEM". NOT sys idle process. It is ok in safe mode but not ok when I boot up using the diag options in msconfig(minimal services)Does anyone have a clue what is going on here? I've cleaned up the registry/uninstalled any suspicious software, unplugged all usb equipment. I've repaired(reinstalled XP)and still no luck. Win 2000 boots up and runs fine(it's on a different partition but same disk). Help would be appreciated! Thanks
i ahve exact sasme config except i also have dual processors and recently for me to my xp wont even boot up i get a blue screen everytime that says somethign about corrupt hdd or new stuff installed even in safe mopde and lats known working configuration. my win2k works rfine though even though its on same hdd on diff partition.
