I have 4 user accounts on a PC with windows XP pro OS. Recently I installed Netscape 7 in 1 user account. Form this time onwards, this user account takes a long long time (as long as 10 min) to start and load the applications and sometimes application does not start at all until I try to log the user off.
Please note that this "go slow" is occurring with 1 user account only and not the other 3.
I do not want to delete this user as it has lot of useful stuff in it.
Any ideas as to what I need to do in order to speed thing up for this user account with out losing anything?

The obvious answer is to uninstall Netscape, but I imagine that you have already thought of that. I do recall that the problem you describe is sometimes caused when running Netscape alongside McAfee. Perhaps a visit to the McAfee website may help?

Thanks for your suggestion Gary. Yes, I have uninstalled Netscape and it has not helped this user. As for McAfee, it is not installed on my PC.
Just wondering if removing the personal profile of the user will help? Then again I am not sure how to this also.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Here are some choice you may try.
Try to uninstall all the programs to see whether it is slow.
Dont install Xp SP1.
Move all you file to CD-RW is possible or you have it.
Create a new user account, move all files to other account. Delete this account.
Compare the program installed in the faster account, and see the difference.
Give me your result and may i help you further.
