Comment:

Hey, i have recently purchased an Acer Aspire M5641, with pretty great specs.. but i am very new to a SATA environment. So maybe i'm just doing something pretty stupid.

The system came with Vista and everyone will know whats coming, yes, XP. So i inserted the CD and booted from it. The first load and all the drivers loaded fine (i think) because "starting windows" (or something similar) appeared and then the display 'refreshed' and up came the BSoD.

STOP:** 0x0000007b (0xF789E524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

After restarting, the previously installed vista is untouched and looks 100% fine.Yet i cant seem to be able to install windows XP. How can i install windows XP?

Quick Specs:
Core 2 Quad 2.33GHz
4.00GB RAM
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
Here is a full sys ".nfo" file (2.x MB):

PS: I cant open the casing, its still under warranty, but i want to format it myself if i can..because that will be a lot quicker. (last resort)

Leave Vista as it is. Create a new partition & install XP on it to create a dual boot setup.

go to acer and look for the SATA driver for XP operating system for your computer model....download and make the correct installation media.

Re try the installation and right after the prompt to boot from CD you will see another prompt to add third party drivers Press F6 do that and when prompted insert the newly created media with the driver you downloaded.

Set-up will continue from that point on!

Sorry but i dont think missing SATA driivers should cause BSOD, its just not gonna show the HDD..anyway, i do have the drivers..

Leave Vista as it is. Create a new partition & install XP on it to create a dual boot setup.

I cant get past the setup of XP.. I cant get to the HDD display part..sorry

Now i seem unable to even start vista.. I should format the Disk..
